Change is Good

Sometimes things happen even though we think we are prepared.

A few weeks ago, my computer crashed and a virus attacked my websites. Even though I thought I had everything backed up, and downloaded all the posts from my blogs, I still lost a big part of my data.

It was a nightmare trying to get everything back the way it should be.

I recently started using an online backup service, Carbonite.com. Although it isn’t a free service, it is still very reasonable.

So lesson learned. … backup everything weekly!

So while I was doing all this rebuilding, I sat down a really examined my goals and how they fit into what I wanted my lifestyle to be. Since it is a new year, it is the perfect time as well.

I am slowly making some changes to reflect that.  One is that I am doing away with some sites that don’t really interest me anymore and streamlining what I do want to keep. I am going to try to keep my blogs to just 2  — my main site here and a niche affiliate site. I will be focusing on my own products more this year so be on the look out for some great new teaching products. I want to jump into video as well, even though it scares the bejeezes out of me. I am hoping to show you what I am doing in each of these areas and teach you as I learn many of the steps myself.

I will also keep my PLR site and work on growing it more this year.

My other interest, as many of you already know, is Kindle and self-publishing. I am in the process of writing a fiction book and have plans to show you the process as I go.  The site I am using is Geoff Shaw’s Kindling.

After a few butt-kicking posts from one of my favorite bloggers, Tiffany Dow, I am putting it all out there and giving you the real me… no matter how uncomfortable it makes me. I am hoping you will help me stay accountable.

So as you can see I am trying to eventually evolve my business into more of a passive business that will allow me to share, teach and commiserate with my followers.

Go a head and tell me what you are interested in seeing on this blog, what your plans are for the new year or just say “hi” in the comments below.
